TGC is part of the 1895 Club. You can enjoy FREE golf through the UK and abroad.
Whilst you can enjoy free golf at these clubs you must take note of local rules and etiquette to book and play. Please consider:
~ The 1895 club you visit must be 75 miles or more from TGC unless by prior arrangement ~
~ Make arrangements with the club prior to playing via the secretary. Please do not just turn up expecting to be able to play ~
~ Have evidence of your TGC membership and your handicap i.e. your England Golf app or certificate ~
~ Please see notes at the bottom of the page for specific club requirements and considerations ~

Ulverston, Cumbria
Ulverston Golf Club
Originally designed by Open champion Alex Herd, the course was remodelled by renowned golf course architect H S Colt in the 1920’s. The challenging par 71 layout provides spectacular views over Morecambe Bay and the Lake District fells.

The original course was laid out in 1895 by Bob Simpson, top golf course architect of his day. In 1933/34 the course was re-designed on recommendations made by the famous James Braid and was sympathetically upgraded by Martin Ebert of Mackenzie & Ebert in 2015.

5. Flempton GC. A total of up to 4 courtesies (1 four ball) per club per day and then fees charged at County Card rate (currently £35). A letter of introduction is required. No bank holiday visits allowed.
6. Goring and Streatley GC. A total of up to 4 courtesies (1 four ball) per club and then fees are charged. Club membership card to be produced, which will be checked with the club.
7. Handsworth GC. A total of up to 10 courtesies per club per day and then fees are charged. No weekend visits allowed.

9. Sandwell Park GC. A total of up to 4 courtesies (1 four ball) per club and then fees will be charged on Monday to Friday visits only.

11. Reigate Heath GC. A total of up to 8 courtesies (2 four balls) per club per day and then fees are charged on rounds after 11:30 AM. No weekend visits are permitted between June and October. Email confirmation of the booking from the pro shop will be required. Courtesy is only for 5 and 7 day memberships. Other categories of membership are offered County Card rates, which are not specified.
12. Exeter GC. No courtesy availability on a Wednesday or a Saturday.
13. Mullion GC. No weekend visits permitted. Only one courtesy round per person so that if a person is on holiday in the area only one round can be played).
14. Cardigan GC. 1 four ball per day and then fees are charged.
15. Peel GC. Weekend rounds have to be outside members’ competition tee times.
16. Rowany GC. Letter of introduction and handicap certificate required.
